On 28 October, Changxing Island Harbor Industrial District Port Transportation Highway will be officially opened, ending the history of Changxing Island’s absence of a direct highway, reducing the vehicle traveling time to Dalian by 40 minutes and above, greatly reducing the distance from Dalian. Provincial Transportation Department Deputy Inspector Chen Tao, Dalian Changxing Island Port Industrial District Management Committee Director Xu Changyuan, Dalian City Department of Transportation Secretary Yao Xianlin and relevant provincial and city department heads attended the opening ceremony.

Changxing Island Port Industrial District Management Committee Deputy Director Li Laiyi presided over the opening ceremony, while Provincial Transportation Department Deputy Inspector Chen Tao, Changxing Island Port Industrial District Management Committee Director Xu Changyuan and Dalian City Department of Transportation Secretary Yao Xianlin cut the ribbon for the Changxing Island Port Transportation Highway. Li Laiyi said, the construction and opening to traffic of the Changxing Island Port Transportation Highway has drawn the distance between Dalian and Changxing Island closer together, drawn the distance between Changxing Island and the Northeast hinterland closer to the world, vigorously enhancing the investment environment of Changxing Island, strengthening its attractiveness to the outside world, undoubtedly actively promoting Changxing Island’s development, construction and attraction of investors, becoming a strong driving force for the economic development of Changxing Island.

Changxing Island Port Transportation Highway is the connection between Changxing Island and the Shenyang-Dalian highway, beginning from Wafangdian Paotai Town, passing through Fuzhouwan Town, Xietun Town, Paoya country, with the final stop at Changxing Island Port Industrial District, making a total distance of 35.476 kilometers, thus connecting Changxing Island with the highway network of the entire province and complying with the highway network planning of the province. With regards to the Changxing Island road distribution and transportation system and the highway network planning layout of the province, it has progressed the benefits of the highway network, raised the Changxing Island Port Industrial District, Dalian chemical industry base logistics services functions, improved the investment environment, promoting the development of the Changxing Island region tourism industry, and plays an important role in the promotion of Dalian Northeast Asia International Shipping Center’s construction.
